Before Your Visit

Preparing for a procedure at our Ambulatory Surgery Center is designed to be simple and stress-free. After scheduling, you’ll receive clear instructions from our care team, including any necessary pre-procedure guidelines regarding medications, eating or drinking, and transportation.

Our clinical staff will also confirm relevant health history and ensure all required imaging or labs are on file to support a safe and successful treatment.

Our goal is to ensure that you feel informed and confident before your arrival. If you have questions or need assistance at any point, our team is here to help.

What to Expect During Your Procedure

Every procedure at our ASC is performed by an expert physiatrist or pain management physician, supported by skilled clinical staff in a state-of-the-art setting. We specialize in advanced, image-guided interventions designed to relieve pain and restore function without the need for surgery.

The majority of our procedures are completed in less than an hour, and none require general anesthesia or hospitalization.

Recovery and Follow-Up

Recovery begins the moment your procedure ends. You’ll receive customized post-procedure instructions to guide your healing at home, including activity recommendations, pain management strategies, and when to resume normal activities.

Our ASC team will also schedule any necessary follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and refine your care plan as needed.
Should questions or concerns arise, our office is readily available to ensure you’re supported every step of the way. For referring providers, a detailed procedure summary will be shared promptly to maintain continuity of care.

Is the ASC Right For You?

Not every patient or condition is appropriate for care in an outpatient surgery center setting. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center is best suited for patients seeking image-guided interventions that don’t require hospitalization, general anesthesia, or complex post-operative recovery.

You are a good candidate for the ASC if you:

  • Have a diagnosis appropriate for non-surgical interventional treatment
  • Are generally healthy and do not require hospital-level monitoring
  • Can undergo procedures with local anesthesia or mild sedation
  • Are looking to avoid the higher costs and complexity of hospital-based care
  • Prefer a streamlined, patient-focused experience with minimal downtime

Insurance and Payment Information

The Desert Spine and Sports Physicians Ambulatory Surgery Center follows the same commitment to transparency and support as our clinics. Our billing team will verify benefits, coordinate pre-authorizations, and help patients understand coverage for all ASC procedures.

  • Insurance Coverage: The ASC accepts most major insurance carriers. Prior authorization may be required for certain procedures, and our staff will work directly with your insurer to maximize coverage and minimize unexpected costs. Click here to view our list of accepted providers.

  • Cash Payment Options: We offer cash pricing for procedures not covered by insurance. Payment in full is required before the procedure. Please note that cash-pay procedures cannot be billed to insurance or applied toward a deductible.

  • Payment Methods: We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards.

If you have questions about insurance coverage or out-of-pocket costs for an upcoming ASC procedure, our staff is available to guide you through the process.
